Washington
The Washington Green is the centerpiece of this quintessential New England village, which is home to a library, two museums, private boarding school, world-class inn and spa and a collection of historic houses designed by the famed architect Erick Rossiter.
Washington Depot
Once a station stop on the Shepaug Railroad, “The Depot” is a charming hamlet where many interesting shops, restaurants, galleries and services, all one of a kind, line Route 47, Titus Road, River Road and Bryan Plaza, which is distinguished by the stately Bryan Memorial Town Hall. Miles of hiking trails lace the village’s beautiful Steep Rock Nature Preserve.
New Preston
A charming enclave of 18th and 19th century buildings that once surrounded active mills powered by New Preston Falls, the village is now a haven for shoppers and weekend visitors. Beyond the center of the village, the narrow, winding road that encircles Lake Waramaug provides a scenic drive and leads to vineyards, inns and spectacular views.
Marble Dale
Just down the road from New Preston on the main thoroughfare between New Milford and Litchfield. Marble Dale is known for its cluster of interesting shops housed in restored homes and barns. A red brick church, founded in 1764, marks the heart of the village.
Woodville
Woodville is best known today for being the home of the Washington Montessori School, which has given the community a state-of-the-art theater for productions of all kinds. A quiet, slower pace of country life pervades the village.
